Guest guest
Brahmacarya according to Carak Samhita is one of three pillars on which the health rests. Ayurveda explains that the period up to 25 years both for men and women is the period of formation of fabrics and dhatu of the body. During this time the fabric of a body achieve their best composition. Thus this period is intended for formation and construction of fabrics, instead of for their expenditures. If in this period the body will not be constructed appropriately man will not be capable to cross all difficulties in life also will be sick constantly. After 25 years man can enter in marriage and engage in sex for producing children. Ayurveds strictly forbids uncontrolled sexual life and also gives the detailed descriptions of harmful influence of sex for the health of both man and woman. In many places of ancient Ayurvedic texts, it is said, that the less there is sex - the better. According to the teachings of Vaydyas - ayurvedic doctors, observance of brahmacarya makes the man capable overcome death and to achieve immortality. Brahmacarya is a necessary component for achievement of the mental peace and longevity. The main thing is how to apply it in our particular conditions. On my deep belief, without Hatha Yoga training it is hardly possible. Nor medicine can compensate harmful influence of the environment, where all are mad on sex. Antidote should be equal in action and as far as both tablet and medicine are concerned, they can comprise only 10 %. One can carry out an easy test to see your chances in following brahmacarya. There is an asana in hatha yoga, which is referred to as brahmacari asana. If you can execute this one then the forecast is favorable. It is necessary to sit on floor, having extended legs in front, and take grip with hands tips of the toes; straighten one's back and, bending forward, lie down on legs, touching with one's forehead (or chin - even better) one's knees. Then one should remain in this asana as long as one can (without bending the knees certainly). If you will have enough courage to carry on with this asana 3-5 times a day (morning and evening), the problem is solved.
