Guest guest
Considering the fact that some of the GBC themselves eat chocolate, it is ironic... Pure chocolate does have a natural cacao contense of at least 70 % that makes it somewhat stimulating, it is dark and somewhat bitter. The normal chocolate however is a mixture of sugar, milkpowder and fat, with very little chocolate in it. If the GBC has nothing better to do than to pass resolutions about eating chocolate or not eating it, and then do not follow those resolutions themselves, why should you go crazy about it? In the early days, the temples used to offer chocolate sandesh to the Deities. Yes, the official policy is no chocolate, can´t be offered to the Deities. This is one of the many many rules that ISKCON adheres to officially, as with many other things, and who follows it? There have been many dicussions about this topic (chocolate), and as always, there is double standard, since most devotees do in fact eat chocolate (private). There are more important things to worry about. So long Rastrapalika d.d.
