Guest guest
A very nice site to check out in this regard is: http://www.geocities.com/NapaValley/Cellar/9072/additive-1.htm It list all known food additives with details for almost all of them, subdevided in: Non-numbered harmful additives Animal-derived Possibly animal derived Specifically harmful to children Generally harmful Miscellaneous Banned additives Another good reference is: http://www.geocities.com/NapaValley/Cellar/9072/fdal-1.htm It lists a huge variety of food articles, spices, etc. and the amount of contamination that is allowed by law. Contamination here means rat and mouse hairs, insect parts, molds, excreta, etc. Stuff that gets into these foods mostly due to the nature of their mass production, harvesting and processing. For instance, curry powder is considered fit for sale when it has less than 100 insect fragments per 25 grams, or less than 4 rodent hairs per 25 grams. Y.s.
