Guest guest
Often in the West, milk sweets such as burfi and sandesh are mixed with hard foodstuffs. Mixing with nuts is especially common. However, this is not the practice in India. Pleasure from food is derived not only from taste, but also from other factors such as texture, temperature and appearance. Milk sweets are supposed to be soft, and mixing nuts into them spoils the softness, unless the nuts are first powdered.
