Bhurijan Prabhu's remembers Prabhupada distinctly saying, "Yes the men do not treat the women as mothers. Nor do the women ast like mothers. Neither do they dress as mothers." So one's behaviour must reflect one's education from the guru and previous acarya's then respect will naturally accrue to the devotees who practice what is preached. If bahaviour is otherwise, who'll give respect? One must earn it.
