I don't agree. Prabhupada never quoted from Charlie Chaplin in any book. The

printed word is considered to be much more authoritative than speech.

Especially if the quoting is to prove a very high philosophical point and it

has been quoted along with the quotes from the Upanishads etc. Garga Samhita

has been quoted by Thakura Bhaktivinoda along with quotes from Upanishads in

the Amnaya Sutra.

 

If the authenticity of Garga Samhita had some element of doubt, Thakur

Bhaktivinoda would not have quoted from it because the acaryas are always aware

that quoting from even a siddhantically right section from an unauthentic book

makes the book authorized. Also the quote from an unauthorized book in a

particular work undermines the bonafidity of the work itself. So Thakura

Bhaktivinoda would never do that.
