I have appreciated your honesty on this matter. That was welcome. I would add that one would also have to be qualified to endeavor properly, in the right direction, according to Hari, Guru, Sastra, and sadhus and without personal motivation behind his (or her) endeavors. Then Krsna may bless that person and he can be successful in his attempt. Krsna is always there, close to us, and helping us to succeed. So if we fail,we can honestly conclude that we were not really Krsna-conscious. Why would Krsna want Arjuna to fail? Never. Arjuna might loose a battle but never the war. Krsna always wants his pure devotee to succeed. But for that, the devotee has to be pure: in body, in mind and in action, according to Srila Prabhupada's basic instructions. Is it not very clear? That is the standard we are expecting from our Gurus and GBCs, isn't it? Otherwise, one may not get the good results he was hoping for, even though he endeavored so much. If he was not pure in his habits or motivations, then Krsna didn't give the result. It is not so cheap as some may believe it is. (Just chant Hare Krsna and everything will be ok!)!!! We also have to act purely according to Srila Prabhupada's instructions. Otherwise, it is just a show and a show generally doesn't last long, unfortunately, as experience has shown to us all. In BG, The Lord says: "Wherever there is Krsna...and wherever there is Arjuna...there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality..." So if we do not have success, that means our heart is not pure and we have not invited Krishna to sit on our chariot. That's my humble understanding. No other reasons are valid at this point. Arjuna never said: "What about my karma, maybe it is written that I will fail, or that the other party will win, or how are the stars? is it really the good time to fight, Krsna?". No he never presented such argument as: his previous karma or others' previous karma, etc. He intelligently surrendered to Krsna's desire, by applying his OWN DUTY in Krsna consciousness and that is why he was successful. In our case it might be that we simply have to humbly surrender to Srila Prabhupada's instructions to us, according to our own natural tendencies; and we can always approach senior and more advanced devotees to confirm our own realizations and get more precise guidance. That is always nice. Sadhu sanga, Sadhu sanga...just a single moment with a Krsna conscious devotee can give us more strengh and guidance than years performing services without the confirmation of the Lord and His devotees. Saintly persons are just here, we don't need to lament, we just have to open our eyes and heart. That's all. Just a little sincerity in purpose and Krsna gives us everything we need to know or have. 'All glories to the Supreme Personality of Godhead!' as Parividha Prabhu says in his most wonderful tapes. Thank you for your valuable input, simplicity and straightforwardness. That was very appreciated. Your humble servant, Krsna-kirtana dasi.
