This is one example of what I meant by "our obsession with > purity." Lord Krsna's Dvaraka City was full of devotees of the Lord. All living peacefully and advancing in their Krsna consciousness at a rate which was obviously very satisfactory to the Lord who was their King. Within Dvaraka their were many millions of well-known and probably many not so well-known devotee prostitutes. They all practiced birth control by some means. They utilized sex pictures, as we read of in Krsna book, to set the mood of their clients. Their clients, also devotees of Dvaraka, number in the tens of millions (figuring if one prostitute has ten clients at least, probably many more). They were also practicing/participating in birth control by their acts. Obviously, all of these prostitutes were the daughters of devotee men. I would think many of these devotee men were good citizens of Dvaraka and participated in many civic and governmental responsibilities. Did Krsna kick all of them out of Dvaraka or punish them regularly and condemn all of them and their activities?
