Hi Reji

I must tell you that i am no authority on the Kundalini or its awakening, leave alone its effects.

All that I have been able to gather is that at the base of spine, there is a tightly coiled structure resembling a female snake. It is called the Kundalini. From this, two channels rise up - the Ida and the Pingala. They anastomose ( please forgive this medical language) at certain places in the body and form plexuses or Chakras. The Kundalini is awakened by I dont know what processes after which it rises up gradually awakening the Chakras and eliciting their respective effects.

I do not remember the name of the chakras so I wont be able to help.

I would really like to know Swamijis views on this.

Thanx

Hi reji

I am a student of MBBS and as such do get time enough for the practice of kundalini yoga. whenever i do it, I do not feel anything unworldly, because of my inconsistency.

Though one thing that I am proud of, is that I am a minor devotee of the Holy Mother and am somewhat consistent in my feelings towards her.

All i could glean after studying some books is that Kundalini Yog is not the only way of awakening the Kundalini.....There are many more paths.

There is the Bhakti yog, the Karma yog, the Gyaan  yog....even tantric practices can lead to the awakening of Kundalini.

As far as the experiences during the awakening is concerned, it varies from person to person.

I know my mum has an awakened Kundalini and when it stirred, she saw Swami Vivekananda...as she is a great devotee of his.

So, it matters not what path you decide to take, its the mere fulfillment that matters...and of course the heart should be full of love for God, because once you truly love Him you start seeing good all around you.

Good, you hold very good attitude towards all such activities like kundalini yoga. You have well said that there are many paths of awakening cosmic consciouness to become one with universal force, most commonly referred to as Divine or more specically as God. A lay man can understand only God & no other high stuff. That is why there are so many practisioners of Yoga, even though it is from The Single Souce, namely Vedas. I would be happy if more number of KY practisioners realise this simply but poignant thought of yours.

  God Bless All
