Om Namah Shivaya Ananthasree,

(and what an interesting name..what does it mean?)

Your delightful story also brought to mind how I came to meet Amma.

A good friend of mine had been telling me for a couple of years how

I needed to go get a hug from Amma. His brother had tried to get him

to go, and he waited five years.

I never felt the desire nor the need. So I always just pushed it

aside. I was doing TM and didn't feel the need for anything else.

One afternoon, I was standing in my deceased father's bedroom gazing

out the window. My father and I had been very close-moreso than with

any other member in my family. We were truly kindred spirits. Out of

nowhere-I said aloud, "Amma" I was stunned. All in the span of what

must have been seconds (the mind can run pretty fast!), I wondered,

how did that happen?! and for goodness sake's "WHERE did THAT come

from?! What did that mean?" which instantly became.."Oh, I have to

go see Amma!" And I realized I had to find out how to get to see

Her.

I did not read any books about Her or anything. But once Her name

seemed to manifest spontaneously from my mouth, I realized that I

had to go! Not only was there no longer any question of seeing Her,

it became a complete obsession! I could feel that in my heart! She

happened to be going to Mt. Pleasant Iowa for the first time that

year, if I recall correctly. So off I went in July! My life has not

been quite the same since! (smile)
