Dear Ariana ~ it's always wonderful when a new person finds there way to the

Devi Mandir group. It's a great group, and Shree Maa and Swamji guide us and

provide us with opportunities for sadhana. Now they have even provided ways

we can "be there" for their own sadhana, like the web cam connection to

participate in their recitation of the Chandi Path today. If you haven't been to

their website yet, or even if you have, go to the "Watch A Video" section and

go down to the link that says something about starting the "Holy Fire." This

is an incredible video of Shree Maa and Swamiji, with many devotees, starting

a fire that will burn for their three year yagya. It's so wonderful to see

the inside of the temple, the haven kund (where the fire ceremony is performed

during pujas), even glimpses of the incredible Cosmic Altar. Welcome ...

 

I don't know very much, but there are many here who do, and there is a

wonderful sankalpa that you could start participating in right away. It is called

the Earth Mother Sankalpa (EMS). Maa asked us at the beginning of the year to

take this sankalpa to pray for the welfare of Mother Earth. The part that I

and some others are continuing to do is to chant one or more of the 9 Planets

Mantras. There is a planet associated with each day of the week and also the

two nodes of the moon, which can be chanted anytime during the week.

Actually, you can also do any of the planets mantras anytime during the week too; I

just like to do them according to the day they are associated with. Here is

enrich the practice of this sankalpa:
