Guest guest
Dear Friends: Even in the classical books there can be some misrepresentation. We have to use our brains. Waiting until a child is 12-years old to see the chart is not making best use of this knowledge. Even in the formative years some insights into his or her health, mind, emotions, relationships and family life, along with the career and educational path, would be helpful. Remedial measures for the chart could be employed to avert any danger or disaster. Guest guest
Dear David, I agree with what you say. In fact many of the charts I am asked to do are for new born babies to be delivered and enjoyed as christening gifts. Many parents are inspired by these chart readings, and can often enjoy the child's potential much more when they see it unfolding with astrological signposts for their health, interests and well being. Parents who have a chart done for a first born, invariably return for another chart for subsequent childbirth, so it seems that parents do get a lot of benefit from the astro pointers in the readings. I think because of my experience as an infant teacher, (and parent of course) I really enjoy picking out childhood traits that will start as a playful interest and then develop into a much needed skill in adult life. With my own family it is good to see how grand/children's interests will develop as they grow, and as an astrologer this insight into their development allowed me to gently foster their talents and facilitate their growth in hopefully nourishing directions. These readings can also be of good use if a child has childhood ailments or disaffection such as hearing or speech difficulty, and the astrologer can guide the parent into getting this remedied so that no undue distress is brought into play in the child's life in early years. My own grandson had hearing disability in infancy, just like his chart said he would have, but a trip to the GP to ask for investigation was the fastest way to getting him the op he needed to overcome the disability, and distress to all of us. Surely this is one of the most important uses of astrology? Even friends phone up to see why their baby might be crying, and quickly seeing it might only be an attack of colic and recommending a check on dietary regimes can relieve parents' worries-if that is applicable of course. One anecdote I can share is of a friend of mine who asked me to do her adoptive child's chart. I said she would be creative and artistic and would enjoy arts rather than science, and was certainly not competitive but a co-operative person who would shy away from discord, competition, and sport. This was thirty years ago when the girl was only eight years old. My friend, an enthusiastic sports teacher argued that she would encourage the girl to participate in sport as she thought this would help the girl become confident and build team skills. Most of this suggestion I could tell was antipathetic to the girls nature, but I didn't argue! The girl has grown up into a lovely woman who now features as a model for many famous brands, and yes is creative and interested in colour and design, a far cry from becoming the Wimbledon Champion I feel my friend would have secretly liked her to be! Yes of course the struggle for the girl to maintain her sense of selfhood caused a lot of friction as the two argued about curriculum choices and spare time pursuits! I think the anecdote serves to convey that we might have one plan for the children under our care, but we make life much more fulfilling and enriching if we allow a child to grow into the flower she is genetically programmed to be and this can be helped with the insights of astrology. I have never said to my friend I told you so, not even when her daughter moved out after another row over her career choice. But as her daughter has gained credibility and self esteem, even a little fame, through pursuing her natural course and talents, my friend has learned to respect the difference in approach to life they share and respects her now more than ever before, and now also respects astrology more! best wishes Margaret - David Hawthorne Monday, May 22, 2006 4:43 PM Re: Re: Career Dear Friends: Even in the classical books there can be some misrepresentation. Guest guest
Namaskaar Sunil My chart was seen when I was 8 or 9 years old by a friend of my maternal grandfather. He was a famous Ayurvedic doctor in Tughlakabad, Delhi. He told my mother that there will be a threat to my life between 19 and 21 years, through an accident. My mother had chanted the Mahamritunjya mantra for me. When I was 20 years old, I almost had an accident that would have surely killed me. A possible head on collision with a bus when I was riding a bike. I remember that moment even now. I turned my bike into a little gap between the truck and the bus and had closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes, I was still alive and unharmed. In my mind, I find no plausible reason for my survival that day. In year 2000, a lady Palmist and Astrologer from Rajpura in Punjab, visited us. She is a pious and a spiritual person. She told me - "You are living a borrowed life" and smiled. She further said "You wouldn't have been alive but for someone's devotion". I think Sri David is right, we should start looking for threats to life immediately after the child is born and check the other things whenever required.
