Guest guest
Nanda wrote (about Mothers Day at the Mandir): ....Until that point, what had been a pleasant beginning suddenly took on a vivid intensity...and Maa danced with anyone nearby. She held the hands of the devotees and whirled around merrily. I tell you, it has to be felt to be believed. This tiny frail woman bringing so much energy first with her presence and then with her dancing ! ....During Kirtan that evening, Maa suddenly stopped and asked us. "Why are you here today?" Total Silence ! ....Three - What does Maa want from us ? ....Maa asked us to do sadhana atleast three times in the day. She also had a little booklet with mantras gleaned from the Mandir books , which said "Mantras for the morningafternoon" and "evening". This book , sad to say, is not available for sale, and was given away to the attendees of the satsang. I guess, booklet or no, the point is to keep doing our sadhana . I hope we will all remember to keep at our sadhana with renewed vigor ! If we need any reason for sadhana, let us remember that it makes Shree Maa very happy. Dear Nanda ~ when you share a vignette such as this of what happens at the Mandir, it is like nectar or balm, and for me, depending on how well I'm feeling, sometimes, both. I can imagine my brain totally freezing if Maa asked me why I wanted to be there. And I can "see" Her dancing, spinning with the devotees. My brain might not always work very well, but I still have a very good imagination, so I can "see" something almost as vividly as watching the videos on the website. And the booklet sounds so wonderful. Is there anyway to post it to the website? (Actually, if someone was willing to let me borrow theirs, this is a seva I would joyfully do ... again, something I can do, at home, sitting down, at the computer, etc., is pretty much what I am able to offer.) If it's not possible, never mind. Perhaps we can each make up our own. It's such a wonderful idea. And it is interesting that you mentioned Maa saying it would make Her happy if we did sadhana three times a day. My usual time is in the evening, but I've been thinking about how to make it part of my morning, after I get up and before I do anything else. (I tend to just go in the morning because I only have a few good hours a day that I can actually do anything like run errands or clean or go to the doctors or anything, and those are in the morning.) But just this week, I have started adding a bit of sadhana at mid-day. I'm not sure why. The opportunity presented itself one late morning when I was waiting in line at the post office, and I remembered someone writing about doing the MM Mantra in their car, so I chanted silently while I waited. Then I found myself doing it again another day, not in the post office. : ) Now it seems to be something I look forward to. I still do what seems to me to be so little, but when I have an extra bit of energy, and I don't feel quite so sick, I find myself naturally adding an extra EMS mala or an MM Mantra. Knowing it makes Maa happy gives even more incentive. So, again, thank you so much for telling us about this wonderful celebration.
