Guest guest
Question from Surya: Namaste Swamiji, Could you list what each of the other face beads (for a rudraksha) correspond to? What is a good translation of the Devi Bhagavatam that you would recommend? I have a love for rudraksha and would love to study this. Thanks and Pranams. Swamiji's response: We use the translation of Swami Vijnanananda. Enclosed are scans of relevant passages from pages 1073-1074. Nanda's footnote: These are the two jpg files under Rudraksha/ <Rudraksha/>
Guest guest
Thank You Swamiji! To scan these was very kind of you! After asking this question I decided to google it and came up with this translation and a few other copies of it. I guess it is the 11th Book. There was some more verses regarding it a little earlier in that chapter as well.. I found it a little strange because it allocated a few different deities for the same rudrakshas it talked about only a few chapters earlier. I still can't find any reference to any corresponding to Maha Kali though. Only 9 face beads seem to sometimes be for Bhairavi. Any other comments would be appreciated! What an awesome text! For any other interested parties that don't have or have access to Swami Vijnanananda's text, I found these copies of that text that may be of interest: http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/db/index.htm http://www.astrojyoti.com/devibhagavatamindex.htm Koti Pranams, Surya - Nanda Wednesday, May 24, 2006 3:36 PM 576--Q&A WITH SWAMIJI- More on Rudraksha Question from Surya: Namaste Swamiji, Could you list what each of the other face beads (for a rudraksha) correspond to?
