Ganges story #2

One evening we came all came back from Trailinga Swami's ashram by boat just as evening

arati on the Ganges was happening. What a beautiful and extraordinary sight it was! At every

ghat arati was being offered. Chanting, singing, drums, conches blowing, hundreds of lights

floating down river and being offered everywhere. It was completely celestial. Like nothing I

had ever witnessed. You have to go see and experience it in person if you never have.

 

I was seated in front as we approached the shore and turned to see Maa standing at the back.

She was there, the Queen of the Universe and it was absolutely clear that the whole of

Benares was doing arati to Shree Maa specifically!

 

It was amazing. Makes my hair stand on end and tears come everytime I remember that.
