Guest guest
A warm welcome to all and especially to New Members, who are very welcome to write in introducing themselves. This list is the first, and the oldest Ramana Maharshi Group started by Sri Miles in 1999. You may be interested to know that we also have smaller, more focussed lists available. They are: Atma Vichara: The list is coming up to its fourth year, and focusses on this subject atma_vichara/?yguid=194201262 For members who are German, or learning this language, there is also RamanaMaharshiDeutschland which is run by Gabriele. is the list run by Vicki. it was launched on 15th November, 2001 The Sage of Arunachala is a list started by Sri Miles: http://groups..The_Sage_of_Arunachala this is currently being used by Sri Murthy who is making Verse-by-Verse commentaries from Sri Sadhu Om from the Marital Garland of Letters. They are available in pdf files stored on the files area, and are in Tamil script, Roman script, and English molecules also. Our list called "The Deep Forty" shows Bhagavan's Forty Verses on Reality and other poems. We are currently in the process of screening the Eleven Verses on Sri Arunachala, in Tamil and also in English. The_Deep_Forty/ Finally, we must mention that for members who find it confusing to have all these lists, and who want a quiet, yet highly focussed 'umbrella' under which all departments are kept, we have the acalayoga forum. http://acalayoga.suddenlaunch3.com/index.cgi A superficial glance at the title shows that the words "Ramana Maharshi" are not there. This is because they attract massive numbers of trawlers to fling spam, and all sorts of undesirable material, much of which finds it way to this list. A deeper glance at the title shows that nothing is missing. 'acala' + 'yoga' = ....... You may work it out for yourself :-) Have a Happy Ramana Day ! anbudan John Siva-Siva

Guest guest
Thank you, John! I stumbled upon this group while reading David Godman's article on verse 39 from Ulladu Narpadu Anubandham. As always, David Godman seems to be a gateway to Bhagavan for me. His "Be as you are" was a revelation, and now, I know I can share my vichara problems with the group. Yours in Bhagavan, Sharada J. and S. Lartet Tel : (91)4424995283 eFax : 0015016460623 Email : jslartet , lartets Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates. Guest guest
*Dear John, You forgot to mention the HS list which started on January 1, 1999 and is a list devoted to Sri Ramana Maharshi. The list models itself after how Sri Ramana gave his teachings of self-inquiry in the context of discussions related to various schools of yoga, meditation, scriptural teachings. Sri Ramana also at times discussed recipes for various foods and inquired about the devotees welfare. The list description given below can be seen by going to the following link. / Ramana Maharshi -- Blessings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi do not require that one be from a particular school of yoga or a follower of a certain religion. Aspirants practicing Raj Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Nada, Mantras, and Japa all came to see Sri Ramana. Sri Ramana always pointed them to their own Self, their own Heart where the Shakti, the mind, and with it, all the practices merge, and the Absolute Shines forth in its own nature. Sri Ramana often quoted the Bhagavad Gita and said that the Lord sits in our Heart as our own Heart as our very own Self (I am in the Heart of all O' Gudakesa). So, it is nice to be in the company of the devotees of the Lord of the Heart. This list is dedicated to Sri Ramana and the pure teachings of the Self as taught in Advaita Vedanta and supports all the preliminary practices of yoga and meditation in the context of teachings of Ahimsa, the philosophy of nonviolence. All are welcome here. New members are moderated for some time to avoid spam mails. Those not respecting the spirit of the Sangha will be put on moderation. Love to all. The website is given below. The community weblog is given below. http://.net/blog/ God bless you all with all good things. *
Guest guest
Dear John, One more Maharshi group is Practice of Self Inquiry PracticeofSelfInquiry/ "Sri Ramana Maharshi brought us Self-Inquiry as a practice to realize the Absolute, to know that there is only Brahman, and Thou art That. This group is dedicated to the actual practice of self inquiry. We who practice are like explorers, exploring Within. We can support and encourage this inner exploration. It is hoped that this group can be a place where this happens.
