Followers of Sri Ramakrishna call him Bhagavan Ramakrishna an incarnation of lord, same is the case Dear Vinayakji, I don't contest the feeling of reverence attached by the devotees to the masters. But one has to make a distinction between devotion and fanaticism. Has not Swamy Vivekananda attributed emotionalism to the awakening of some lower chakras, without real spiritual elevation? I am not contesting the greatness of any guru, but am pointing out clear unalloyed truths about some gurus indulging in self-glorification by holding others in a very small light making glib distinction between avatar and jnani, all these, instead of inculcating in the minds of devotess the idea of oneness giving rise to cults, the dangerous consequence of which you might have seen. We cannot fly from the face of facts. In the name of devotion one cannot accept things which have not been recognised by the scriptures like upanishads, and which are also incompatible with a liberating knowledge of the highest kind. Having been disillusioned only, I am writing all these things. One cannot give up the torch of reason at the empirical level, though the empirical world is full of dualities. Pray, please be aware that I am not questioning the devotion of many towards some as great avatar, but that feeling of devotion should be placed at a different level of understanding. When it comes to the question of justice and fairplay being flouted, we cannot philosophize. yours truthfully, Sankarraman Ring'em or ping'em. When it comes to the question of justice and fairplay being flouted, we cannot philosophize. Dear Sir, I am in full agreement with you. As far as the statement made by satya sai baba it can be safely ingnored. Neither Bhagavan Ramana or true devotees of him like us are least affected by these things. Each one is free to express his feelings. It is upto each individual to take it or leave it. Yours in the lord, Br. Vinayaka
