Guest guest
post number 31555 Sadar Pranams , dear subbuji! You write ( Thank you for those penetrating insights. Actually while writing the above post i thought of the 'svayamjyoti braahmanam' of the Brihadaranyaka upanishad and you have brought out its main conten)t. Well, subbuji ! we need to thank the original Poster (Neelay-post number 31539)) for raising these questions. He made us think. Subbuji, this is the beauty of a Satsangha . You are the 'lit' lamp WHO are LIGHTING other lamps in this beautiful group of Sadhaks. Thank you for your prsence . Now , if Chitta also stages a comeback ,this garden will be in full bloom. May i quote a verse with reference to the importance of a Satsangha in spiritual progress ??? kalpa dhru mah kalpitam eva sute kamadhu ku kamitam eva do gid chintamani chintitam eva date satam tu sam gha sakalam prasute11 The kalpavR^iksha (the celestial tree) produces only what you can imagine, The kAmadhenu (the celestial cow) milks only what you want. The chintAmaNi (the gem of gems) gives you only what you have thought>about. However good company produces everything. (Its benefits are notimited by your thoughts desires or imagination)!! Yes! we are one fortunate group of people with so many wonderful members here who share their LOVE and Knowledge ! Thank you , my friends . Subbuji , in an earlier post you wrote : (There is a Name for Lord Shiva 'Soma-SUrya-agni-lochanaaya NamaH'. The one who has the moon, the sun and the fire for His (three) Eyes.) Subbuji , may i quote a verse from Shiva-Mahima STOTRA composed by Pushpadanta . tvamarkastvaM somastvamasi pavanastvaM hutavahaH tvamApastvaM vyoma tvamu dharaNirAtmA tvamiti cha | parichchhinnAmevaM tvayi pariNatA bibhrati giraM na vidmastattattvaM vayamiha tu yat.h tvaM na bhavasi || 26|| You are the sun, the moon, the air, the fire, the water, the sky(ether/space), and the earth (the five elements or `bhUtA's). You are the Self which is omnipresent. Thus people describe in words every attribute as yours. On the other hand, I do not know any fundamental principle or thing or substance, which you are not! Yes ! you are right ! the meaning of the word 'arka' is Sun ! The meaning of the word 'Soma' is moon! and Huta is 'Fire' Not only Shiva is referred to as 'Soma-SUrya-agni-lochanaaya NamaH' but his whole being is the abode of the five elements (the sun, moon, the air, the fire , the water , the sky(ether/space)) Also, here the poet says Lord shiva is everything , he is our innermost self! SIVO'HAM! ONE OF THE 108 NAMES OF LORD SHIVA IS OM PARAMATMANE NAMAHA Obeisances to the Supreme Self May i also quote another verse of shiva-mahima stotra ? trayîm tisro vrittîs tribhuvana-matho trînapi surâ nakârâdyair-varnais tribhir-abhi-dadhat-tîrnavikriti, turîyam te dhâma dhvanibhi-rava-rundhâna-manubhih samastam vyastam tvâm sharanada grinât-yomiti padam. 0 Giver of refuge, with the three letters A, U, M, indicating the three Vedas, three states, three worlds and the three gods, the word AUM(Om) describes You separately. By its subtle sound the word Om collectively denotes You - Your absolute transcendental state which is free from change. Yes! OM Namaha Shivaya Adi shankara bhagvadapada has given a beautiful explanation of this Panchakshara mantra ( may be another time , i will post that! ) Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara Aum Chandramauleeshweraya namaha! ( when Chitta reincarnates he can write about the importance of SUN, MOON, FIRE in Trika Shaivism) DEVI BHAKTAS ALSO KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF SUN, MOON AND FIRE IN SRI LALITA MAHATRIPURASUNDAR WORSHIP!
