Om Namah Sivaya

"Those that are of low tendencies seek occult powers which help in healing diseases, winning lawsuits, walking on water and such other things. True devotees seek nothing but the lotus-feet of the Lord."

----Sri Ramakrishna

Question: What about the powers of so-called supermen?

Sri Ramana Maharshi: Whether powers are high or low, whether of the mind or of a supermind, they exist only with reference to the one who has the power. Find out who that is.

Om Namah Shivayah!

I have a question here, why anybody (has to seek only) 'seeks' occult

powers?

They(powers or siddhis) can come on its own in the process of his/her

own sadhana, and this happens mostly with shaiva - shaktheya sadhakas.

But they are just the signposts in their sadhanas and that does not by

any means, means they are of 'low tendencies' neither it should be

assumed that they are attached to them(exceptions may be there).

Some people may try to seek purposefully some powers for some aims, but

that is entirely different issue and they are not to be compared with

Genuine Sadhakas and Meditators.

Yes, even Buddha, Jesus, Krishna Healed other people. They had powers

and They were selfless, so my Point is as long as a Sadhaka is

proceeding in the Path of Selflessness and is of an holy intention to

help others and put others also in the path of Sadhana is doing only

KarmaYoga and serving others in the society, than to sit all the time

cross-legged in a Forest.

I think Negative Powers are Wrong and Also Powerless ness is also wrong.

Positive Power is always useful.

And Lord Shiva has told in so many Tantra Shastras about (Occult)

Powers(Shakthi), for the Benifit of Sadhakas Only and they(Tantras) are

very true.

> Sri Ramana Maharshi: Whether powers are high or low, whether of the

mind or of a >supermind, they exist only with reference to the one who

has the power. Find out who that is.

This an infinite loop.....finding out who it is?......I dont know How

many in 'Thiruvannamallai' found out? But they definitely miss the

Life(If they are not productive and not help others). First of all

everything is SHIVA mayam, we know all that, Still we need to live a

Life, and this life, Just like Shiva lived his life with his own family,

wife Parvathy, Sons Ganesha and Kumaraswamy and all friends in Kailasha

happily. Celebration, Dancing and Rejoicing , Love, Compassion, Sharing,

Universalness, Rebelliousness(against injustice), Yoga, Meditations,

Tantra and Mantra are the identifiers of any Staunch Shaivite I suppose.

Shaivism is not against Shakthi or its fruits to be consumed and shared.

As long as the motive is not selfish, it is ok, if he/she is graced with

powers by the Shiva. How can a sadhaka be powerless and still call

himself a sadhaka? And if he misuses them, The Karma will take care of

him/her and will fall down into lower levels. So it is a Tightrope walk

and one must be alert, discriminative, Selfless, Compassionate,

Intuitive in the issue of Using Powers, if at all he/her had any, and

always should be benifit of others.

Hi,

I am a Hindu and i fail to understand that why do americans turn

towards ISLAM rather than hinduism? There are very few americans who

turn to hinduism, even the philosophy is too high.

May be the lack of absolute monotheism, which ultimately doesnt satisfy them.

                    Hara Hara Mahadeva ShambhoShankara!!!

Yes Sir You are right!

But......

My Point is also that, That Silence should be an inner phenomenon.

Once you are totally Silent and become a witness, the stillness of

Shiva is inside you, The eternal Smashana Vairagya(The whole

Universe as nothing but a funeral ground - So Silent!) Then there is

no need for you to renunciate anything externally nor to accept

it............nothing should effect you , so no need to runaway.....

You cannot declare/deny a dream, you cannot kill a dead snake, Same

is the same with all so called Showing(Expressers) of their

renunciation. Only if it effects you, you will be against it right?

And as long it effects you, you are not out of its influence.

So Renunciation is internal , centred and it should happen by itself.

And to Sustain that, you need the inner power to face the external

realities of life, right in the middle of the Action. Be there.

The real Test is given in the Bazar, on the real ground of Action.

No where else to go, they are all temporary symbolisms and solaces

to you. One must Escape from Escapism and stand in the Kurukshetra

well equipped. And there is no question of grihasthi or non-

grihasthi, they don't matter to such a person. There is no Kala, only

MahaKala!

Om Namah Shivayah! Shambho Mahadeva!! Shiva Parabrahmanney Namah!!!

Jai MA KALI!!!!

Dear Friend

One reason might be, Both Islam and Christianity Actively Encourage

Conversions and they Concede even Forced Conversions to their Religions.

Where as Hinduism has no Agenda as Such to keep on Converting other

religion people. The very Concept does not exixst due to historical and

as to the very Universal nature of Hinduism.

Hindus  don't have any Mass Conversions Programmes like Islam Promotes

so Violently in this World.

But Many Westerners have studied Hindu Sacred Scriptures, Have been

Blessed by Many Gurus etc, and Have become themselves a many great

Sadhakas and Siddhas.

Dear Rajinder

In the below message of yours, You said about doing karma without

seeking wishful results etc...Nishkama Karma is o.k.

But you said after that has no connection at all to the above statement

or Conclusion...

> maharishi ramana as i see last sage of this century

so what? You see, in what way it (Maharshi Ramana being a last sage

etc....) has got anything to do, "express your own self?" Why hide

behind another? Nobody denied here that Maharshi Ramana is not a great

sage. But are YOU? That is the question....How Shiva has Written our

destiny? Where are we heading?

> we have

> lot others who seek material results or want to be

> famous

> in international starving communities of quick

> miracle seeker

In what way you are bothered or concerned, dear Rajinder? Are they

hampering your Spiritual development or self search? Are they coming in

your way? Is it not a Projection of your own Ideas(Subconciously) on

'OTHER'. In fact it is you who wish to have material wants and want to

be a internationally famous and miracle seeker, hence you are bothered

about those. By 'Projection' we mirror or expose our own ideas or

thinking according to theory of psychology.

This is called 'Projection', seeing things in others.

I think it is better to be non-judgemental about others, as long as

there is no concrete proof. And Shaiva-Shaktheya Tantra is not against

Material or Enjoying Things of the Nature Naturally. Why one should be a

DRY , neourotic RENUNCIATE ? In the name of socalled spirituality?

King Janaka was not a Renunciate, But a Raja Yogi.

I hope you got the Point I think.
