Dear Brothers and Sisters

When we are living in Bhagawan Baba’s Darshan (Holy Presence) at Parthi and also at home, in our respective country, we make it a point, to recite the Suprabhatam (the Morning Prayer) at dawn before we start our daily prayers and mantras. The recital of the Suprabhatam has proved very beneficial to many people, devotees and non devotees who have wisely chosen to start their day with the invocation of the Name of Bhagawan Baba, the Living God.

Suprabhatam literally means Auspicious Dawn. This hymn is sung before daybreak, in the holy hours of dawn, Brahma Muhurta and as we are all aware at 5 am in Parthi.

This Morning Prayer is offered to Bhagawan Baba to ‘awake’ Him, the Lord, who is reposing in mystic slumber on His Serpent Couch.

Why do Sai devotees start their day with the Suprabhatam, one may ask? Why do so many people, men and women wake up at 1 in the morning and queue up in front of the Temple to chant a ten minutes ‘prayer’? The reason is that the Lord of Parthi, when He wakes up, He casts His First Glance at the one who recites Suprabhatam, as each day is a gift from the Lord to be spent usefully in His Service. Many are known to have had a Sudarshana ( Holy Vision) of Sai after they had recited the Morning Prayer devoutly and with a pure heart; others have been cured of lethal diseases.
