Guest guest
Folks With US and Indian stock markets going down (Indian markets more than the US), I am betting 2 cents that somebody predicted this or at least astrologers will claim that "I told you so". They will probably produce an article / web site reference also. An ex-post analysis of the market (astrologically or otherwise) is very easy. But if somebody predicted that commodity markets will see some declines, or emerging markets will see some declines - it would have been an excellent prediction. Did any astrologer on this list see the market meltdown coming?? (astrologically). It is fairly easy to make an argument based on economics, interest rates and PE ratios, valuations. And several people did warn about this before hand. MS
Guest guest
Namaskaar Sri Manjunath True, but the meltdown in India isn't really a meltdown. I was talking to the investment bankers who are close friends, and it was agreed that market would correct itself by 7 to 8%. However, the wild fluctuation was not seen. Most economic analysts are surprised at this. Yesterday, the "manic monday" as it is called, I had a talk with the same group. The reason is clear - the bulls had picked up major stocks on margin money basis. At this point, a totally unexplained and confusing notification was issued by the Tax department - which said that there is a possibility that FII funds will be taxed. This effected a pull out by FIIs. The bulls panicked and were holding too many stocks and they had to sell. The selling will continue for 2-3 more days and only then, the buying shall resume. The buying shall resume, only if, proper clarification comes through the tax department. Another important thing to remember is, this is not a natural happening. This is a triggered fall. Some bear must have made money to last 7 life times and I am positive that some big political brain is behind this. Thanks and Regards Bharat On 5/22/06, M. Guest guest
Manjunath, Whats a prediction in this even if was done in advance. Watch CNBC and there will be three opinions on the market each day. It will go up, down, or side ways. It has not changed since these talking heads started appearing on news channels. You do not need jyotish for this. There is a 33 % chance of the event. Markets always move up or down and the general trend can be seen reading the news and business climate. Will you put money into or out of market based on any of these predictions ? I doubt it. At any given time, three astrolgers can predict three things and one of them will be right. Its like predicting earthquakes. They happen every year, so if you say there will be earthquake, you will be right everytime. If you say there will be hurricane, you will be right, as there is a hurricane season every year. It is not possible to predict the magnitude of an event. I have never seen it done publicly by any astrologer. There are simply no tools available to do so. Satish --- "M.
