Dear memebr of this forum,

I am a student of astrology, both Western and Vedic. Here is an atrology problem I am trying to solve and you may wish to help:

On 21st of March each year, according to western Astrology, the Sun enters Aries, while in Jyotish the sign the Sun is during 21th of March in this era is Pisces .But, 21st of march is the begining of spring ever year, in the past time as well in the present period. Also, the coming of Spring is related to the energy of Sun in Aries in astrology. The question/problem here is evident .Please, share your thoughts on this.

Dear friend,

I know where this is going ...

You would agree, I hope, that spring is the opposite of autumn of

Fall?

How come this same sun in aries explains the beginning of autumn,

fall and beginning of decay in Australia and Argentina (southern

hemisphere?)

Dear,

I am afraid you misunderstood.I do not support Western Astrology in

comparison with Jyotish.I am just researching.I read what I say

below somewhere and thought someone here may help me.What you say is

truly interesting.

Could you suggest me any good sites/books to deeply study Vedic

Astrology?

Dear mprgrandmaster,

There a lot of people, fairly intelligent and otherwise 'normal'

people who believe in and practice western astrology. If you

carefully read my writing you would realize that I too do not have

anything against western astrology (both the tropical and sidereal

kinds!). I don't have anything against jyotish either, though some

may misperceive that to be the case. There are many books in jyotish

in many languages. I have posted my recommendations in several file

libraries. Most non-indian beginners find some of the writings of

western jyotishis easier to understand and related to. Others hit

Brihat Parashari Hora Shastra. Some get a bit daunted by larger books

interspersed by sanskrit slokas so they opt for the smaller sized

books by modern writers. If you are serious, I would recommend PVR

Narasimha Rao's book Integrated approaches to jyotish. This has

enough material and thought starters to keep you busy for sometime.

Then gradually you will have to sample many other books, classical

and modern. At the end of a few years, you will get the distinct

feeling that only a small fraction of all that you have read is

really useful, applicable in daily charts, although here and there

you will see examples of this or that yoga or arishta doing its lion

dance on some internet stage or book or article.

More than books, peer into charts, look for connections between

planets and houses, planets and attributes and the people whose lives

you are peering into.

As long as you keep coming back to the real world and bring what you

learn to test in the reality, you will not go astray and not turn

into a sceptic or worry about your territory and all such small

stuff. You will turn into a true seeker and a mentally healthy one.
