To editors of VNN and Chakra:

 

Hare Krsna.....Please accept my attempt at humble obeiscances. Glories

to Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga. The recent article on Chakra referencing

the L.A. Maha-Hari-nama with massive prasad cookie distribution was so

much encouraging. One envisions similar inner city Hari-Nama’s gradually

arising all over the world. Thank you for such a positive article which

inspires hope and enthusiasm.

On that note I would like to offer a draft of an idea for polishing,

and possibly implementing in this new year. I see that VNN and Chakra

both publish on a regular basis such positive, enthusing stories from

the Vaisnava preaching arenas all over the world. Other, less positive,

and sometimes bordering on blasphemous articles are allowed to appear,

blasphemy being as Srila Prabhupada describes, “speaking in such a way

about another Vaisnava such that a third Vaisnava thinks less of the

second.” Who profits by that? Who profits by hearing criticism of

someone preaching the glories of the Holy Name?

Do the thousands of our Vaisnava congregational members, and new

seekers, who frequent VNN and Chakra, become impressed by our

politicking? Are we not supposed to be something “transcendental”,

something above and beyond the mundane?

Why not, simply to give pleasure to Lord Chaitanya and Lord Chaitanya,

simply to further the heartfelt desires of Srila Prabhupada, Srila

Bhaktisiddhanta, and Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur make a yr. 2000

resolution.

 

That we of VNN and Chakra hereby refuse to be party to allowing sound

vibration even moving in the direction of criticizing preachers of Nama

Prabhu to appear on our sites, rather we shall dedicate our efforts to

overflooding the Internet with stories of success in promoting the

chanting of Hare Krsna, prasad distribution, book distribution, Nama

Hatta etc.

Why not? Why shall be like other mundane papers? Why shall we allow our

readers to suffer offenses to Nama Prabhu by allowing unnecessary

criticisms on our sites. Would that not be truly impressive to any

newcomer? Would that not bring happiness to the heart of our Masters,

Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga, will we not, in both the Gaudiya and ISKCON

camps stand to grow in appreciation and love for each other, who are

after all, members of the same family.....?.

Some may say, well, some readers want to hear certain things ---,

fine, but not here.......we of VNN+ Chakra want to promote the highest

“raja-hamsa” swan consciousness, exemplified by Sad-Gosvami.

On this Holy day of Srila Jiva Gosvami’s disappearance day, I beg

your consideration. Why not? Why not enliven the Vaisnava community

worldwide, sending a message of commitment to unity and brotherhood?
