Guest guest
Nayana-ranjana prabhu, do you intend this as some sort of response to reports fo the Turley firm's gurukula lawsuit? Or is it to another issue. If it's the gurukula suit, I find it hard to figure how defamation suits by ISKCON against the press can be productive. The most important point in a defamation suit is that the plaintiff must be able to prove what the defendant said was false. Can we prove that the reprts in the press that former gurukula students are suing ISKCON are false? Of course we can't! they have certainly filed a (whopping) suit. Can we prove the reports that members of ISKCON are accused of perpetrating many kinds of abuse, and others of tolerating and covering it up, are false? Nope! That is indeed what these folks are claiming. Could we prove that none of the things alleged by the plaintiffs happened? I don't think so. For one thing, it's hard tto prove a negative, as common culture has it. For another, a great many of the alleged acts certainly were inflicted on our children. So I'm sitting here at my screen wondering what the point of your posting was. Can you help? Babhru das
