You are probably right. Adri would not resign even if the whole world were petitioning him -- his arrogance is unfathomable. Nevertheless, there may be a legal advantage in demonstrating through a mass signed petition that Adri & Co are clearly going the wrong way and wrecking the Society. The legal team will have to explore this avenue. But as you say, one way or another, Adri & Co have to go. We can't sit by while they just wreck so much good work. Regarding the GBCs' resignation, that was not Srila Prabhupada's way. There was one instance in Australia where the TP fell into maya. The devotees rejected him and informed Prabhupada who wrote back saying that it is better to RECTIFY a devotee than to REJECT. This is what Srila Prabhupada taught us. Only when is was obvious that a devotee could not be rectified Srila Prabhupada would take further steps. In the case of Adri and Co it appears now that they cannot be rectified. The GBC, however, although party to some past terrible mistakes, oversights, mismanagement, and so on they are basically very sincere servants of Srila Prabhupada. The proper course of action, therefore, is not calling for the rejection or resignation of the GBC but rather rectification. > There is a saying 'vinasa kale viparita buddhi' which means that when the > time comes of one's destruction one makes the wrong decisions. True, just as Duryodhana and Co were planting the seeds of their destruction for mare than a decade Adri & Co are sowing the seeds of their own destruction. It is just a matter of time before they destroy themselves. And if there is anything we can do to limit the damage in the meantime we should act. If there were no legal problems in expelling Adri & Co I sure that option would have been executed by the GBC executive long ago. In India legalistic affairs can become enormously complicated. I believe our devotees on the legal team are doing their best in very, very difficult circumstances. They are facing Adri & Co who have plenty of stolen ISKCON resources whereas our legal team may be struggling with very limited resources. So legally speaking we appear to be heavily disadvantaged. The philosophical aspect is not even a consideration now, it never really was for Adri & Co. Now it is just a fight for legalistic control and power in mundane courts. Such is the disgrace Adri & Co have brought on ISKCON. Hope you are well. Hare Krishna!! ys ada
