I agree with this. Whoever comes to the GBC, may perform in exactly the same way as this one. The basic issue seems to be that many (or most) devotees feel that the GBC allows wrong doers to get away with their actions. The GBC, being senior devotees, highly dedicated servants of Srila Prabhupada, will definitely have their reasoning for their actions. What is really required, IMHO, is for specific guidelines to be suggested by the GBC, by which 2 contradictory factors can be balanced. 1) The necessity to punish wrong doers and protect other devotees from repetition of the actions of the wrong doers, even if the wrong doing is not fully proved. 2) The necessity to be completely sure that the wrong has been committed and the compassion of the Vaisnava based on which the wrong doer is given a chance to rectify himself. Today the burden of proof is too high. We need a much lower level of proof which will be sufficient to warn all devotees that the devotee stands accused. Immediate action at this lower level of proof should also be taken, by which the devotee is prevented from being in a position to harm other devotees. There should be sufficient transparency that all devotees world wide know that accusations of wrong doing backed up by a certain amount of evidence wil definitely result in action. As they say, justice delayed is justice denied. We need a justice system which is guaranteed to work fast by implementation of new laws.
