Srila Prabhupada said, "Did you ever notice that in old India, in the old

remains of the architecture, that there are no hospitals? Why do you think

that there were no hospitals." I said, "Well, less people were sick." He

said, "They had sufficient money. They built wonderful temples out of stone

and they also had Vedic knowledge, medical science. So the reason was that

they were simply interested in cultivating Krsna consciousness."
