All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to ISKCON Guru and Vaishnava vrindas. I am sending you a report of the Janmastami celebrations held at SRI JAGANNATH MANDIR at Bangalore.May I please request you to put it on the Iskcon India conference and any other conf: you feel like. For the Bangalore congregation, this Janmastami was an achievement by the mercy of Sri Guru and Gauranga, being the first one in their own temple. You can understand our sentiments as you are familiar with the events here in Bangalore. Your servant, Vibhav Krishna dasa. Dear Devotees, Hare Krishna ! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. The first Janmastami festival at Sri Jagannath Mandir was celebrated in a blissful and enthusiastic manner. The entire Temple was vibrating with the song : KRISHNA KANHAIYA/ DAUJI KA BHAIYA The previous day devotees were spread out all over Bangalore inserting Invitation Pamplets in the newspapers of the Festival at the ISKCON SRI JAGANNATH MANDIR in the city. Since Madhu Pandit had invited the members and donors on the 22nd for the festival, some devotee youths went in the evening to Hare Krishna Hill and started to distribute the invitation leaflets to the crowd gathered there for the Janmastami celebrations the next day at SRI JAGANNATH MANDIR. Some inmates of the temple tried to stop us saying "we have booked the entire road", "you are not authorised", but the public and the Police were on our side and insisted that we distribute right in front of the Temple. The constant rains on the 23rd did not dampen the spirit of the devotees and they went on to decorate the Temple hall with wonderful flowers and lights. Their Lordships Sri Sri Jagannath, Baladeva and Devi Subhadra, Sri Radha Madan Mohan, Sri Lakshmi Narasimhadev and Sri Gour Nitai were dressed in gorgeous maroon coloured dress. The public started coming in the evening onwards as it was a working day. We were serving sweets to the public. We also had a"Krishna Consciousness at Home" counter, and we were enlightening the people of practising Krishna Consciousness at Home through the Bhakti Vrksa program. After Sandya Arati we had Cultural programs, starting with the youths singing bhajans. We also had a play depicting "The four Pillars of Adharma" followed by the pastime of " Sakshi Gopal".The entire Temple hall was packed with devotees and the public. The concluding part was a song and dance by the Matajis depicting Jayadeva Goswami's "Dashavatara Stotra". We then made arrangemnts for the Abhishek of Sri Sri Radha MadanMohan. The Dieties were bathed with different items and fruit juices. We had also announced on the previous Sunday program that devotees(prabhus) can perform milk Abhishek of the Dieties in Vaisnava dress(dhoti and anga vastra) and Matajis in Sarees only.So we had an unexpected turnout of devotees in Vaisnava dress and it took us an hour or more for the milk abhishek. There was then reading from Krsna book while the Dieties were being dressed up and bhoga offering was being done. Then the grand moment arrived. The MAHAMANGALARATI OF THEIR LORDSHIPS. Exactly at the stroke of Midnight. This was performed by the Chairman of the Steering Committee Anukul Keshav Prabhu. The arati kirtan was resounding in the entire neighbourhood(according to next days comments from neighbours) with KRISHNA KANHAIYA / DAUJI KA BHAIYA We then served to the devotees Non grain Prasadam of around 600 plates. Some of the devotees stayed back to do "Mandira Marjana"and finally we left at 2:45 AM. Some devotees reported that they could not get sleep as their ears were still resounding with the song: KRISHNA KANHAIYA / DAUJI KA BHAIYA Hari Hari bol! your servant sudhir caitanya dasa (Text PAMHO:3500508) ------ ------- End of Forwarded Message ------
