Calcutta Police Suspected of Cover-Up In ISKCON Suicide Case

 

New Evidence has come to light which demonstrates strong bias pointing to a

cover-up by the Detective Department (DD) in the case of dead ISKCON monk

Suresvara Das. Suresvara Das recently committed suicide following an

apparent conspiracy to falsely implicate him on a rape charge. He had

consistently been denied by bail by the DD, a factor which obviously

contributed to his suicide. Documents leaked by disillusioned sources

within the DD itself, now show that the DD have known all along that

Suresvara was innocent. These documents are part of a chain of evidence

that document a pattern of activity by the DD designed solely to firstly

unfairly victimize the deceased, and to then protect those who have been

accused by the Jail authorities of abating his suicide. These murky events

necessitate that the case is immediately handed over to the CBI, before the

much maligned reputation of our City’s Police force is sullied even further.

The following 10 FACTS prove that the case must be taken off the DD as soon

as possible:

 

FACT 1 FIR alleging rape is filed by a one Basanti Devi against Suresvara on

29/6/00 at Ballygunge Thanna. FIR alleges that Devi had met the local

Calcutta ISKCON President, Adridharan Das on the morning of the rape, and

that he had directed her to go to the place where she alleges she was raped.

Yet witnesses testified that no such meeting had taken place. Further the

rape was alleged to have taken place at 11 am in a very busy building.

Many witnesses reported seeing Devi coming to meet with Suresvara, and then

leaving shortly afterwards in a jolly state, with no rape having taken

place. Yet the FIR claimed she was taken upstairs where she was forcibly

raped for 2 hours. The rape itself was not reported until 9.30 in the

evening, many hours after the supposed event. Thus immediately a frame-up

is suspected.

 

FACT 2 Though such cases are normally handled by the police station where

they are reported, the DD steps in and takes over the case without any

reason.

 

FACT 3 Very quickly the DD know for sure that Suresvara was innocent since

their own medical tests, which we have now had leaked to us by the DD

themselves, prove that rape did not take place. The reports state:

 

“1. There is no evidence to substantiate that VG (victim girl) was subject

to forcible sexual intercourse.” And further that:

 

“No external injury detected on her person or vulva.” FACT 4 An FSL report

was also conducted to detect any sign of semen inside the alleged victim.

The report was NEGATIVE – further confirming that no rape took place.

 

FACT 5 Fully knowing the contents of these reports, the DD still oppose bail

at every step misleading the press and the courts, as an innocent man is

thus kept unfairly locked up for over 1 month due to the bias of the DD.

 

FACT 6 The innocent Suresvara unable to take anymore incarceration commits

suicide on 3/8. He leaves a diary naming those who have conspired to cause

his false incarceration, and subsequent suicide. The diary states that the

plot was hatched because he had rejected his American Guru, and instead

accepted Srila Prabhupada, the Founder of ISKCON, as his sole Guru. He had

further joined the ISKCON Revival Movement (IRM) in their attempts to purge

ISKCON of these false Gurus. The Jail authorities immediately register an

abatement to suicide case against the 8 conspirators named by the diary with

the Hastings Police. The court orders that the accused are not allowed to

leave the country, thus sanctioning that the accused should be pursued.

 

FACT 7 The DD in a panic to save themselves since an innocent man has

committed suicide due to their actions, immediately issue the following

false statement to the press, on the very next day:

 

“Mr.Narayan Ghosh, D.C., D.D, is quoted as saying that “the preliminary

medical report of the examination conducted on Basanti “had indicated that

she may have been raped.” Yet as the leaked medical reports produced above

document, the preliminary medical report had actually indicated the OPPOSITE

– that Basanti was NOT raped.

 

FACT 8 The DD next try to distract attention from the medical evidence

proving Suresvara’s innocence by filing an application for a DNA test on a

spot of the alleged victim’s dress. This further confirms that the FSL was

negative, for one would not be needing to search and test for any semen on a

dress, if semen had ready been found inside the alleged victim.

 

FACT 9 Also they apply for this DNA test only AFTER Suresvara has committed

suicide, and over 1 month after the investigation had been opened, though

the dress had been in their possession from day 1. Thus it is obviously a

maneuver that has been hatched for the following reasons:

 

a) To Unnecessarily prolong the case so as to prevent the truth from coming

out, and provide the DD time to cover their tracks.

 

b) A desperate final attempt to try and conjure up something to justify

their incarceration of an innocent man.

 

FACT 10 The DD have also once again stepped in to take the case for the

abatement to suicide out of the hands of the Hastings Police, again without

valid reason.

In contrast with the zeal that they pursued the innocent Suresvara, the DD

have deliberately adopted a ‘go slow’ on the suicide case. The net result

being that to this day, not only have the accused never been questioned

once, but they have also been given time to abscond. In the meantime the DD

continue to keep open and pursue the case against Suresvara, who the

evidence shows is innocent and who in any case NO LONGER EXISTS.

 

Conclusion Any sane person must wonder:

 

a) Why are the DD determined to pursue a case against a man who does not

even EXIST, whilst they allow the 8 accused in the conspiracy to cause his

suicide to go scot free?

 

b) Why were the DD determined to take control of these 2 cases, and lock up

Suresvara even though their own evidence indicated he was innocent?

 

c) Why are they chasing a dress when the medical examinations have already

shown Suresvara to be innocent?

 

d) If the DNA test DOES come back positive, surely this can only be evidence

of more foul play on the part of the DD – for how can there be any semen on

a dress when there wasn’t even any on the alleged victim. After all

Suresvara was accused of raping the alleged victim, not raping the dress!?

 

Answers to some of these questions may lie in the fact, as reported in the

press, that the DD took over the rape case only after Dc (DD-I) Narayan

Ghosh met a wealthy businessman by the name of the B.K.Fathepuri, who urged

him to intervene. Mr Fathepuri was reported in the press as being the

financier of the false American Guru – Jayapataka Swami - who resides in

Mayapur, and who is one of the accused in the abatement to suicide case. He

is also the same Guru which Suresvara rejected, and which the IRM is trying

to purge from ISKCON - and it was these activities that led to Suresvara

being framed for the rape charge in the first place. Thus it appears that

this whole sordid affair is underpinned by a DD/Foreign ISKCON Gurus/Wealthy

Financiers nexus.

 

It is clear that this is an unsatisfactory state of affairs, and the cases

should be immediately be transferred to the CBI so that this matter can be

cleared up in a fair and consistent manner. It maybe to late to have saved

Suresvara, but it is not to late to ensure that Justice is served, and that

his death was not in vain.

I agree. Madhusudana Prabhu, I know you passionately feel that the ritviks

are the only way, truth, and light but public unrelated conferences are not

the places to impose the ritviks unwanted distortions and often very

distastefull views. So please show respect for the purpose and members of

the conferences.
