It may not mean that one is useless but it surely may mean that one is not

suitable for that activity and one should take a break and make way for someone

else.

To try one's best is a good thing but what is lacking is a sense of

responsibility to accept that I could not give the desired results (in some

cases I could give even harmful results) even after trying my best and thus I

should step down from my managerial position.
