It is better that we make the proposal first so that they can then decide. How they respond is up to them. > (5) Also it will good to know what is the framework in which the > conference is going to operate. > Is the conference open to the fact that for restructuring many of the > present GBC's may have to step down? You'll see from the research posted in the conference and linked website that Srila Prabhupada's initial GBC structure for the first few years was one of no sannyasis, only grihastha managers. > (6) The Rochford Report doesn't seem to have been taken seriously at all > about the loss of trust in the leadership by the general mass of ISKCON > devotees. If the GBC ignore the restructure proposal and things continue getting worse, then we can rest assured that we told them so. We did our duty, we did it respectfully and peacefully. We can't and intend not to force this issue like maddened ritviks, but rather intelligently disscuss a structural change for the betterment of ISKCON. I and many others strongly believe that the casue of nearly all our problems over the last two decades has arisen from the faulty GBC structure. So many good gurus have fallen because they were trying to manage and be guru simultaneously. In this respect a management example we can follow is that of the Swaminarayana's here in London where they have built a magnificent temple that is admired by Prince Charles and many other prestigious people worldwide. The managment is done EXCLUSIVELY by the grihasthas. Their sadhus including Pramukh Swami never get involved in any management at all. And one time I asked them about their falldown rate and was informed that it is almost nil. OK their philosophy is another thing but managerially they are expert. In ISKCON we nearly always hear constant complaints about the GBC management. Something has to change, and many now believe it is the structure of the GBC that has to be changed. It is time we reverted back to Srila Prabhupada's original non sannyasi structure, the same varnashrama structure that the Swaminarayana group are currently implementing so successfully. > Vaisnava dasabhas > Nayana-ranjana das ys ada
