Guest guest
As an experienced fund-raiser I would like to suggest that 5% of the money collected should go towards sending thank you cards with different printed photos of ISKCON's work in the earthquake. This should be done as a cooperative effort with Indian temples. Please understand that people give not so much because of the cause but more because it makes them feel good. They have used their money to make a difference and they want recognition. You must facilitate this desire by sending them thank you letters and momentos for the good work they have done. These letters should be signed by top people either in ISKCON or celebrities. Then the next time people will remember the good treatment they got, the good feeling they had and they may double their last contribution. What is the value ? We can purchase equipment for the food relief such as vehicles and cooking utensils . Tents , sound systems etc. These can be used by ISKCON for sankirtan afterwards until the next disaster. There is so much to say in this regard. So much for the sankirtan movement.
