All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to ISKCON, Lord Caitanya's sankirtan movement. On behalf of the Bangalore ISKCON Sri Jagannath Mandir congregation, I am writing this letter with a heavy heart. 17th April 2001 will go down as a shameful day in the history of ISKCON Bangalore. Madhu Pandit Das finally did what we had anticipated about all this time.He openly performed a Ritvik initiation ceremony in ISKCON,Hare Krishna hill where 50 candidates were "INITIATED", given names and proclaimed Srila Prabhupada disciples. Needless to mention this is a gross and blatant flouting of Iskcon law. This is not the first time he has treated Iskcon law like something meant for kids to follow and not for him. Going back in time we realise that a soft approach towards him when he began to deviate has only made him grow from strength to strength and more determined than ever to throw the baby out with the bath water and spread the ugly cancer of Ritvik vada. We have been saying this earlier. Please trust our judgement since we have been closely associated with him and know him better than visiting peace maker devotees. In our opinion peace moves are FUTILE and only give him the impression that the GBC and Iskcon Bureau are ineffective and he can do what he wants . There is absolutely no authority above him. He is the unchallenged supremo of ISKCON, Hare Krishna Hill. He can trample on Iskcon law with hob nailed boots so to speak. He has made a mockery of Srila Prabhupada's teachings,he has scoffed at and insulted Iskcon authorities time and again and the best part is he has got away SCOT FREE.He has even used official ISKCON machinery(IWR,monthly newsletter sent to life members) to denounce and defame ISKCON authorities. While appreciating the Iskcon authorities like the GBC and the Iskcon Bureau for their wonderful devotional qualities like tolerance and their wonderful preaching activities all over the world we humbly beg for STRINGENT and STERN action against Madhu Pandit dasa and company. One devotee on Hare Krsna Hill actually expressed"the GBC are spineless". His impudence has reached such a height that GBC's like HG Ravindra Svarupa Prabhu and HH KaviChandra Swami have been denied stay in the temple thereby giving the message that Hare Krishna hill is his undisturbed "PERSONAL PROPERTY". We are allowing one stubborn person to hijack Iskcon temple property, wealth innocent devotees etc. He is laughing all the way to the bank and to Ritvik initiation ceremonies and doling out names and beads to all and sundry. He has expressed that such ceremonies will be held at regular intervals and "Srila Prabhupada disciples " will expand on the face of this earth. At the rate of 50 people taking such initiations per month, we will have 600 such ritvik vadis every year spreading this disease all over the society by their interaction with other centers. Please consider the confusion and chaos this is going to cause in the society and specially in Bangalore. Please consider the ruination of spiritual lives of many due to hearing, believing and further expressing offences against Iskcon authorities. Preaching in Bangalore has been an uphill task since the Ritvik epidemic broke out. Now it is going to be even more difficult. Are we going to allow this cancer to spread? Medicines haven't worked. Isn't it time for some surgery? The so called peace moves of Madhu Pandit dasa in our humble opinion are a big FARCE and totally one sided. The goodness of the peace committee is being exploited and they are being DECEIVED.The time has arrived for the war bugles to be blown and swift, stern and serious action to be taken so that a precedent will be set.No temple president in the future will dare such impudence. On the other hand lack of action will encourage independence and an attitude of "anyone can do anything in ISKCON".As a precedent if we tolerate one Madhu pandit dasa, then we shall see many such apa-sampradaya in our society. Please forgive me for any offences committed in writing this letter. Looking forward to some quick action. Yours in the service of Sri Guru and Gauranga.
