Guest guest
“once heard that Srila Prabhupada said that if someone goes away from our society it is 50% that person's fault, and 50% the fault of the society.” “Yes this was commonly known to us when Prabhupada was here. But even if he didn't say it, isn't this common sense. As it is said, "It takes two to tango." Good management can save lives.” When Srila Prabhupada was here, that ratio could make some sense. But him no more present (?) and considering how the leaders have conducted themselves after he left, we could certainly increase that percentage of responsibility for the society to 80% or more. Why don’t we make new devotees if it was 50/50? Why, anyway, do we have members either living in the society or quitting it? Couldn’t we have a between, what we used to call in a derogative way “the fringes”? If the society or our philosophy were a little bit less radical, we would have most of the ones who come to KC and then decide not to be full time devotees, situated as friends of Krishna. Then we will have a society. Then we will be present on the spiritual, religious and social scene. Then... then... then... then we could make so many things. However, this is not the case. And no one seems really concerned about it. The statue quo is: a serious devotee or nothing. Akhilesvara dasa
