Guest guest
Leaders should make special efforts to evaluate their own activities to see if they are displaying true patience and tolerance. They should also observe their patterns of avoidance, apathy or insensitivity, especially at those times when they need to be more involved in productive action. Those who are satisfied with a superficial evaluation of behavior will have difficulty being patient and tolerant. People who lack compassion for others cannot be tolerant, because they do not feel obliged to adjust their world-view to factor in anyone other than individuals of importance to them personally. While giving your very best at all times, you should also remain detached and not overly preoccupied with the outcome of your actions. Spiritually conscious people know that ultimately they are not in charge. Leaders can view their role as one of coordinating the activities of those for whom they are responsible. To do so properly requires the constant awareness of being a servant to others. Being a servant entails keeping abreast of the people's problems, needs and goals, in order to be in a position to stimulate growth and develop useful projects that enhance the quality of life. Whenever you experience envious people around you, you can try to uplift them by projecting loving, selfless and caring thoughts. In the face of your own envy, remember that when you are able to enjoy the achievements, happiness, and successes of others, you become empowered to be a carrier of high spiritual potential. ------ HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami >From "Leadership for an Age of Higher Consciousness"
