Global Conference on Bhagavad Gita to begin on November 28Bangalore, Nov 11

(UNI) A three-day global conference on the Bhagavad Gita will begin here on

November 28 with eminent speakers from different walks of life presenting

different aspects of the Gita.Conference Chairperson P V Nath told

newspersons here yesterday that the event would provide a unique opportunity

to spread awareness about the Gita, considered to be one of the most sacred

religious texts of the world.Prominent among those who would be

participating in the conference included Kanchi Shankaracharya Sri Jayendra

Saraswathi and Srimannarayana Ramanuja, Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji of Sitanagaram

in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, besides Pejawar Mutt Swamiji Sri Visweswara

Teertha Swamiji. The three religious leaders would lecture on 'Dwaita,

Vishistadwaita and Adwaita' in the session on 'Moksha Sanyasa Yoga.' A

special lecture on the Gita and its relevance to present day would be

delivered by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living Foundation.

Dr Thomas Athanasius, Bishop of Muvattupuzha in Kerala and Prof M Mumtaz Ali

of Satsang Foundation would also participate in the conference.Karnataka

Governor T N Chaturvedi is the Chief Patron of the conference and he will

deliver the Presidential address on the inaugural day. Mr Justice Rama Jois,

Governor of Bihar, would also participate.Supreme Court judge Mr Justice

Rajendra Babu would speak on 'Gita and Administration of Justice.' Vedic

chanting of all the 18 chapters of Gita would be held on all the three days.
