Guest guest
A TRANSCENCENDENTAL S.O.S Dear devotees of the Lord, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to the Sankirtan movement . It is an honour to inform you that we have opened The Cultural Department in Sridham Mayapur. The goal of our department is to create a constant festival environment and engage the community in devotional service by performing different arts in Krishna consciousness. Srila Prabhupada has said that "Mayapur should be an eternal festival." Sri Avaduta Nitai, by His divine mercy, had inspired us in our hearts to start this project as soon as possible. Thus, The Cultural Department was formed. The 4RP PROJECT We presented the project to the Mayapur authorities. Considering that it fulfilled the present necessities of our community they mercifully gave us the opportunity to put it forward. Unanimously they agreed that a Cultural Department was urgently needed in Mayapur. Attached to this message you will find a transcription of the original approved document. As you will see in the document, our original proposal was to stage shows performed by profesional artists. However, some senior Mayapur authorities advised us to engage the community members in the performances. This may sound easy, but at the moment of putting the theory in to practice we found lots of difficulties. To get the community enthused to participate is no so easy as it may seem to be. Therefore we have decided that a drama committee should be created. They will stage the dramas and invite the community to participate in the performances. This means to say that we need a drama teacher and a team of minimum six devotees. WHAT IS OUR PLAN OF ACTION? We want to stage two shows per month at the samadhi auditorium and the show schedule would be as follows: 1st Drama 2nd Musical and dance performances 3rd Story telling 4th A video showing the making of the drama (audiovisual) Additional to the shows, we will perform padyavali kirtana for eight hours a week. An effort of this nature is needed to create a more blissful environment in the community and we are enthusiastic to take up this effort. However, to accomplish this, the following expenses will be required: For the drama committee: Maintenance for Drama teacher and director 5000 rupees per month 1 actor (6 in total) 2000 rupees, plus prasad For the office: 1devotee (2 in total) 3000 rupees, plus prasad For the kitchen: 1 devotee (2 in total) 2000 rupees, plus prasad OUR HUMBLE APPEAL We humbly request you to please help us in this project. Donate to our Cultural Department at least $5 US (this is the minimum requirement for the bank) or whatever amount you would like to give so we can make this project possible. Without your assistance we will not be able to continue. Sri Sri Radha Madhava will definitely be pleased with all of you, and they will give you back at least twice what you have donated for the spiritual culturalization of the Mayapur community. Our project is engaging the unemployed Mayapur gurukul graduates, in our web site. you will be able to find more details about who we are. We will keep you informed of the development of our Cultural Department, with photos, articles, news letters etc. Please deposit donations to the: American Express AC No 701748 of Bharat Overseas Bank Ltd, Chennai, India (Head Office) For Further credit to NRE SB 0068405 12A, Camac Street Kolkata 700017 India Hari om tat sat Your eternal servant, Jayagovindacaran Das Department Head of the Cultural Department and pujari for Sri Sri Radha Madhava.
