Guest guest
************* SRI GAURA PURNIMA FESTIVAL 2003 - INVITATION *********** Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! With great pleasure we invite you to the 2003 Mayapur Gaura Purnima Festival. Srila Prabhupada said Mayapur was his place of worship, and thus it is a house of worship for his followers. Therefore, during this year's festival, there will be longer and more kirtans by which we will worship the Supreme Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. In fact, the kirtana hall in the temple is being expanded so more devotees can participate in the temple programs. We will be providing free prasadam and free accomodations in the guest house dormitories to all devotees so everyone will feel very welcome in their house of worship. As with last year's festival, we are arranging a Krsna conscious Children's Festival so the children can blissfully engage their energies. Srila Prabhupada spent up to six months in India attending various festivals and was very keen on developing the Mayapur Festival. The Mayapur festival has come a long ways from the pioneering days to what it has become today due to Srila Prabhupada's mercy and the enthusiatic endeavor of his dedicated followers. This is the 25th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada's departure to the eternal pastimes of Lord Krishna. Let us show our love for His Divine Grace by reaffirming our commitments to jointly serve His Divine Grace in his place of worship, Sri Mayapur. The grand finale to the festival will be a Maha Harinama Sankirtan with thousands of devotees chanting through the streets of Kolkata, Srila Prabhupada's birthplace. We feel this will be an appropriate tribute to our illustrious Founder Acarya. We are making earnest efforts to make this festival a memorable one. Please send in your suggestions, and book as early as possible. Hare Krishna.
