Is Ceylon the Lanka mentioned in Ramayana?

I have also have heard this exchange as recorded in the tape archives.

There is also that the statement that tirthas like Sri Vrndavana Dhama and

Sri Mayapura Dham are identical though over 1000 (material) miles apart.

That all the places of pastime of Lord Krsna, indeed of almost, if not every

Avatara, can also be found in Mayapura Dhama. For example Nrsimhapalli in

Mayapura is supposed to be identical to the actual pastime place of Lord

Nrsmhadeva.

 

So we have to remember that we are not dealing with material but rather

spiritual transcendental pastimes. So if all the tirthas can be mapped to

Sri Mayapura Dham, then it is also possible that all the tirthas of the

original Lanka (if we postulate that the present Ceylon is not the original

place because it is much too near India 20 miles versus 800 miles) could

have been mapped into Ceylon and have exactly the same potency since they

are considered identical.
