Srila Prabhupada gave us so much service, we hardly

had time to chant our rounds, what to speak of read

his books. Although I knew that by serving Srila

Prabhupada I was doing the best for myself and for all

living entities, still I lamented that I had so little

time to read his books. Srila Prabhupada must have

understood my concern, so one day he spoke to me:

nasta-prayesv abhadresu

nityam bhagavata-sevaya

bhagavaty uttama-sloke

bhaktir bhavati naisthiki

 

"By reading the book Bhagavata or by serving the

person Bhagavata, one gets the same result. Just by

serving the person Bhagavata, all the truths of the

book Bhagavata are revealed, even if you do not read

the book."

 

Thus, I continued in my service to the person

Bhagavata Srila Prabhupada, with full conviction and

enthusiasm.
