Suffice it to say, that a member of this conference believes that some of the exchanges regarding the Mathura incident were inappropriately "political". > Why do we need a moderator for an "open forum"? The reasons for having a moderator is to prevent the forum from being used as a platform for personal politics and/or to curb irrelevant or offensive posts. I am too far removed from internal India ISKCON affairs to comment whether the recent exchange should have been moderated or not, but I can imagine future situations that might benefit from having somebody who could switch on the "moderation" mode when necessary.
