My understanding of this is that Srila Bhaktisidhanta gave householders an

additional name to their existing name ie: Abhay (original) + Charan Das. He

did, however, award bramhacari and sannyasi names more fully though, which

was the practice that Srila Prabhupada had to use in the west. You can't

really say Tommy Krishna Das or Dave ekinandan das or Sandra Dasi, can you?
