Varnasrama in Mayapura

I have received much info on the project from people who were very close to

it and have learned of inherent inconsistencies in the management goals.

Because of a lack of prioritization within the leadership, the project is

practically dead before it gets a chance to start its very noble life.

I think Srila Prabhupada stated it nicely:

 

"Srila Prabhupada: So if our men are not prepared to do plowing work, Tamal

Krsna Maharaj, what is the use of purchasing land?

 

Tamal Krsna Swami: They are not prepared, Srila Prabhupada.

 

Srila Prabhupada: They have to engage a laborer and spend 200 rupees for him

at least including salary and food and the production is nil. In this way

there must be 10,000 to 20,000 rupees expenditure. Am I right or not? You

bring money some way from anywhere and spend lavishly! What kind of

management is this? You should consider, after all, that money is earned

with hard labor. A person will bring money with hard labor and other person

will spend it like irresponsible prince. That should be stopped. That is

management."

 

 

As I have said before, when there is a consensus within the GBC to

prioritize the implementation of Srila Prabhupada's orders regarding

varnasrama-dharma I will do everything in my power to support it. I give my

word.

 

Until then my acts of charity and endeavors will remain within more

practicable pursuits.
