Guest guest
Dear Vidvan Gauranga Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada. > Another point is that we have to use some common sense. When sastra says > that we should serve the guru in vapuh, that obviously means that we have > to do so as long as the guru is physically alive on the planet. That is > the understanding that is conveyed to us both by precept and example of > the previous acaryas. Notice how Vidvan has now changed the subject. First he tried to present *quotes* which he claimed *proved* that the Guru *must* be physically present for the pre-initiated aspiring disciple. Now that it has been pointed out that the quotes do not actually state this - Vidvan has dropped his evidence from actual quotes to 'common sense' & 'precept and example of the previous acaryas'. This is just another way of saying that he does not actually have any quotes from Srila Prabhupada stating the necessity for a physically present guru in order to take initiation from, as he originally claimed.
