Guest guest
Pamho. AgtSP. Mayavada philosophy means that one doesn’t make any distinction between Paramatma and jivatma, this is why the followers of ritvik-vada are put in the category of Mayavada-philosophers. In Adi-lila 7.110 we find the statements by Lord Siva how he spread ignorance through Mayavada philosophy. "My dear wife, hear my explanations of how I have spread ignorance through Mayavada philosophy. Simply by hearing it, even an advanced scholar will fall down. In this philosophy, which is certainly very inauspicious for people in general, I have misrepresented the real meaning of the Vedas and recommended that one give up all activities in order to achieve freedom from karma. In this Mayavada philosophy I have described the jivatma and Paramatma to be one and the same." The ritvik propunders state: "A powerful diksa-guru such as Srila Prabhupada CAN post-humously initiate and accept disciples. Which sastra says that he cannot do so?" If the ritvik-followers think that Srila Prabhupada were able to establish new principles of religion not mention in the Vedas it means that they equate Srila Prabhupada with God. Srila Prabhupada states: "Except for God, no one can establish the principles of religion." (SB 1.3.43, Purport) "Only the Lord can manufacture a system of religion. The Vedas are also accepted as originally spoken by the Lord Himself to Brahma, from within his heart. Therefore, the principles of dharma, or religion, are the direct orders of the Supreme Personality of Godhead (dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam)." (Bg 4.7, Purport) "In the Sixth Canto of Srimad-Bhagavatam, in connection with Ajamila’s deliverance, Yamaraja says, dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam: real religion is that which is given by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, just as real law is that which is given by the government. No one can manufacture actual law at home, nor can one manufacture actual religion." (SB 7.15.13, Purport) "Dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam. Nobody can create religious principle. A man cannot create. That is not possible. Any religious system which is created by man, that is not religion. Religion means what is created by God. That is religion. Dharmam tu saksat. Saksat mean directly." (Lecture, Bg 7.1 -- Bombay, January 13, 1973) "The simple definition of dharma is dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam: "Real religious life is that which is enunciated directly by the Supreme Personality of Godhead." [srimad-Bhagavatam 6.3.19] For instance, what do you mean by "civil law"? Civil law means the word given by the state. You cannot make civil law at home. That is not possible. Whatever the government gives you—"You should act like this"—that is law. Similarly dharma, religious life, means the direction given by God. That is dharma. Simple definition. If you create some dharma or I create some dharma or another man creates another dharma, these are not dharma." (JSD, 2.4) In the above quote Srila Prabhupada says that if he himself would create some new dharma then that could not be accepted as dharma. Thus again if the ritviks think that Srila Prabhupada was able to create a new dharma or law then that simply means that they equate him with the Supreme Personality of Godhead and thus they are propounding Mayavada-philosophy. Therefore one should conclude: "Misinterpretation of Bhagavad-gita is chala-dharma. When Krsna directly says something and some rascal interprets it to mean something different, this is chala-dharma — a religious system of cheating — or sabda-bhit, a jugglery of words. One should be extremely careful to avoid these various types of cheating systems of religion." (SB 7.15.13, Purport) Ys Svarupa das
