The various Gaudiya Math branches can't possibly unite themselves under the guidance of one single acarya (here Narayana Maharaja being propagated as such) since the departure of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura. What to speak of Gaudiya Math, now ISCKON is being envisioned as a soon "merging" partner of such imagined "corporation" with the various branches of GM, with the single acarya on the top. Really far out news. The particular fictitious "deal" that allows to ISCKON gurus to still keep some "shares" in the form of diksa-status and money (perhaps it's a kind of payement for their not making troubles to Narayana Maharaja's establishment as the ultimate authority of the "Corporation") is quite amusing and entertaining, and perhaps even indicative as well. Namely, there where the entire Gaudiya Math actually broke down was exactly over the controlling the money and the assets. Who's gonna to control which part. So watch out for this, if something like of a kind (a fusion of GM branches and ISCKON) occurs, by some miracle. Watch out the fight over who will be controlling and deciding over the *material assets*. Watch out how one single acarya of such "spiritual Mega Institution" is going to be elected and accepted by all Gurus and Acaryas from the side of all various fractions, groups, and institutions. Just comming... ---------- Though much more could be said, I am trying to be short at the moment. Just one thing that I would like to point on specifically. ISCKON is obviously in the crises, and the opportunity for different parties to try to grab for a piece of the "cake" is apparently there. Though all are claiming the right over the entire ISCKON, objectively some would be satisfied with the piece of it, as bigger as possible. Rtviks go for theirs, "NMs" go for theirs... and the "ISCKONiaties" (loyal to their Gurus&GBC) hold the right of theirs. So it would be quite silly to expect the unified front where all would agree to go under one flag, the one of NM. Braking down ISCKON into different fragments, just like what happened to GM, would be the objective outcome. I guess that's what both rtviks' and NM's parties would go for (they are doing it already now, snatching from the ISCKON with any slightest opportunity). BUT. What I have primarily on my mind is -- nobody cares for devotees really! They are just like an another kind of a material asset, besides money and buildings. The devotees in general, the members of ISCKON, are like the chips laying on a poker table. And the game is going on. It is just crazy, but that's what's happaning. On one side the rtviks are making the court case by which all the devotees would become announced as the initiated disciples of Srila Prabhupada, and their present gurus as rtvik priests. On the other side, the activists of Narayana Maharaja (like our well informed "reporter" here, Chandra Das) are busy in announcing the "unification deals" in which the "chips" would be pushed over to the NM's side of the table, thus becoming NM's actual disciples (while remaining just in name the disciples of their present Gurus, for the sake of not having these "Gurus" cry too much after the lost of their "chips"). But who cares what individual devotees might want and think about what could be the best option for their respective spiritual lives. "The Fight For Power and Control". So let's see who get's what on "the end". (It's like in a free life cinema. Maybe Chandra Das could write something about it in his "Cinema Journal" already now.) - mnd
