Guest guest
a well thought text. thankyou nayana ranjana prabhu. >books to distribute them to the Maharashtrians coming to Vrindavana or >Delhi or in MP or something like that. Ofcourse BBT Mumbai's main customers >for Marathi Gitas is ISKCON Juhu. But then everytime the BBT supplies books >to temples it has to start discriminating on what language books to supply >and what not to supply. This is completely impratical. The solution should >come from ISKCON's side. Sounds reasonable. I am not a BBT man nor a book distributer but I am shocked to hear that BBT, no matter which branch it is, can refuse a temple book supply when they have stock and the temple is willing to distribute the books (and make payments in time)!!! Have we ever thought why Srila Prabhupada used the word "book distribution" and not "book sell"? The bitter truth is that we are becoming more of money minded than of preaching minded, not only in book distribution but in many other ways. Book distribution certainly helps in fund raising which is essential for any organisation but what is this--- "we won't give you books becuase otherwise we will not be able to make money out of "our customers"???? sounds ridiculous, if true. They are not "ours" or "your" customers, they are either Kaliyuga's or Lord Caitanya's customers. The earliers they get SP books the quicker they turn towards Lord Krishna. >Also another point has to be discussed what to sell on the TSKP buses and >what not to sell. another very important point! the TSKP is supposed to focus on books, and that also precisely Srila Prabhupada books. Books will change people's heart and they may come up with a huge donation which we may not be able to collect after selling other litte things for years! The problem is we are scarred "what if we cultivate someone and he goes out to give his donation to someone else?" This money mindedness has crippled our preaching activities like anything. >Standardizing the book prices can also be discussed >at such a meeting so that a person can get the same book at the same price >anywhere in India. this is also important. look at other people like Gorakhpur press, we can learn a lot from them how they have been able to win people's faith and give out millions of books. >This is necessary now because temples prefer an easy way for >making life members at Rs.14,444 without giving the members the Bhagavatam >set. the main purpose behind SP's introducing LPM in ISKCON was to increase book distribution. We are forgetting it and doing business out of life membership. This are not only my words but of thousands of life members. They are not foolish. Devotees are considered more intelligent becuase they supposed to have taken shelter of Krishna, but if we think that we are more intelligent than other karmis even when it comes to making money then we are mistaken. Most people give us respect not becuse *we* are intelligent--- it is becuase *they* are intelligent. They know sadhus should be respected. Even if they find out that someone is a pretender they may respect him/her because of his/her sadhu dress. Soemtimes they get cheated and lose faith in all sadhus. > >These are my two pennies worth. Thank you for bearing with me while reading >this message. Thank you so much. It's possible that some people might get upset with my comments but I can't help it because I have seen our preaching is hampered like anything because we have neglected many basic principles of a sadhu's life. Being Krishna's devotees we are supposed to be at least gentlemen. I am sorry for the outburst but I am sure many more share this opinion although they don't speak out for whatever reasons. ys, bb
