Srila Prabhupada made it very clear > to us that this was the defect of the Gaudiya Math, they tried to put > forward imperfect persons as Acaryas. The 11 recommended gurus by Prabhupada became self-styled full-fledged acaryas accepting worship just like Prabhupada whereas Prabhupada wanted them to act as officiating acaryas till the uttama-adhikari acarya was unanimously selected. This was the 'zonal-acarya' system. Wasn't it? Please correct me if I am wrong. > If we oblidge them to think that their guru is a fully > self-realized Guru, who is the perfect and absolute representative of > Krsna, and whose every act and word is perfectly directed by Krsna, we are > asking for trouble. > > I think that you have to admit that the neglect of this point has fueled > the rebellion of many to be against Iskcon as it is today. No? Yes Maharaj, perfectly right. The guru who once appeared or posed himself as the perfect and absolute representative of Krsna, and whose every act and word is perfectly directed by Krsna, fell down or was found to have some shortcomings, which created a contradiction in the philosophy in the minds of the disciples, who thus rebelled against the authority system of ISKCON which had projected or been a silent witness to the projection of the guru as a maha-bhagavata. Ofcourse the ISKCON authority system cannot be blamed entirely because the standard the zonal-acarya system set by imitating Prabhupada simply became permeated in the main-stream of the ISKCON society and the gurus thought that there is nothing wrong is taking worship which they were not qualified to accept and which they could not digest. But now atleast we are realizing our mistake and we are paying heavily for it, so we should act fast and correct all the wrongs of the past.
