It may not have been the best way to respond but somehow they went ahead with it. Their intention was basically to discourage the matajis from coming to the front till the dipa offering and they more or less did not expect that the matajis would go to the extreme extent of trying to brake the human chain. But some matajis like mother Paravati took such an extreme step and then the devotees in the human chain got upset and pushed & shoved back. There is no question of any beating and whether there was any manhandling I do not know. > Yes, there sounds like all kinds of entertaining behaviour being exhibited here. Still, this human chain pastime sounds extremely playgroundish to me -- reminds me of sound kind of 5th grade strategy. No matter how well intentioned the 'men' party was, this makes them look somewhat childish, which then casts their defensive arguments in an almost irrelevant light. I mean if we are going to deal with grown up issues, we should at least pretend to act like grown ups. Leaders lead, and do not simply react. ys, Sthita 'someday I wanna be a grown up too' dhi
