Guest guest
Hare Krishna, This whole controversy, "women vs. the sannyasis," is something of a mystery to me. The layout in the Vrindaban temple is almost identical to Los Angeles. The New Dwaraka devotees worked this out years ago: -- When the Deity doors open, the men are lined up on the left, in a line in front of the first altar. The women are toward the rear. -- After the men offer obeisances at the first altar, they move to the center altar and the women begin to move to the front of the first altar as the men clear away. -- The process repeats. When the men have finished offering obeisances, they circle around and take up a position in front of Prabhupada's vyasasana. At this point, the women are free to take darshan as they like and then join the guru-puja. This flow of traffic works for 100+ devotees. However, Vrindaban has a smaller space to work with because of the steps that drop off toward the rear. With a cooperative mood, the Vrindaban devotees could work out the details if they want to. Sorry, but it's neither the "sannyasis" space nor the "woman's space"; it's the Mandir. And since in vedic culture sannyasis are shown the utmost respect & regard, it's natural for the women to "shy" away from them... and from other men also. Remember; "shyness" is a woman's greatest quality! But since you've never lived here in India... guess you might not have 1st hand experience of that. Seems you never visited Mayapur... and seen how traditional gaudiya vaishnava women behave... in the culture that Srila Prabhupada wanted us to learn and follow... Too bad... maybe next life... maybe never... Hare Krishna Prabhu. I offer you my most respectful obeisances...
